Our spam filter caught what I would describe as "the most stupid spams ever" (although I am not sure there is intelligent and stupid spam).
One was from a painter based in Singapore (I would image they'd expect us to pay their trip from Singapore to repaint the office in Dublin).
One was from David. I decided to reproduce a few lines so we can share the laugh.
"I am David, Marketing Manager.
I have been through your site and can see that you are offering Web Development services to your clients. In these tough times, where it is hard to maintain the topline, we can help share the bottom line for you.
We have a large team for both Web Development and Design which can execute the campaigns at a much lower cost than what you have in house."
How can someone offer "much lower costs than what you have in house" when that fellow does not even understand what we are developing. David, we are busy and so far have not been too affected by the so-called crisis (that I would call gross mis-management).
How do people send spam? Well, you buy some silly software that harvests the web and gets email addresses. And guess: you waste your time.
If you run a business and you are desperate to grow it, there are more efficient ways than spam: networking and patience.
